1. The best news I ever received was: finding out that my baby was a girl! Ryan proudly announced "It's a Baby Claire" from across the room and I cried with joy and love!

2. Something I'm looking forward to is: when Claire giggles for the very first time

3. Something I would never do is: any form of extreme adrenalin sports. I have enough anxiety as it is, I do not think it is fun to induce more!

4. If I could choose someone to be my life coach (famous or not, living or dead), I'd choose: Michael Franti he is so full of optimism, love, life, and passion


5. If I had to put a label on my style it would be: BoHo West Coast Casual. Yes it deserves all capital letters. 

6. One should always: get at least one hug from someone they love every day

7. I want to take a trip to: Kelowna this summer, I need heat and warmth! And some fresh juicy peaches would be nice too!

1.   My favorite daily responsibility is: just tidying up from the night before, putting things back where they belong, straightening the house so that it is not perfect, but tidy. Lived in and happy.


2.  My least favorite daily responsibility is: washing the dishes! Ugh I hate it. Ryan keeps promising he will hook up our dishwasher, but it has yet to happen. Better be done by the time the babe is born! HINT! HNT! RYAN!


3.  My favorite cuisine to eat when going out is: burgers and fries. LOVE  a good burger!

4.  My favorite cuisine to prepare at home is: tacos as mentioned in this post 


5.  Andy Warhol said that everyone is famous for 15 minutes. My claim to fame is my brief stint at modeling. It was a lot of fun! I landed a couple watch ads and also got to work with some amazing artists. It was short lived, I am not a stick skinny model type girl and I have a lot of tattoos so work was limited for me...but man was it fun!

6.  If I could have 3 wishes I would wish: for peace on earth, peace on earth, peace on earth
  

7.  My biggest pet peeve is: mean, rude people. Why!?! WHY!? Life is too short!

1.   Something that makes me a great friend is: honestly I feel like I could be a better friend to many of mine! But I try! I have been told by friends that I have a "big heart" and that sometimes I "care too much"so I guess that would be a plus?!

2.  I am : bitchy by nurture not nature  

3.  I am not: one of those prego's that is in a rush "to get thins thing outta me"...I don't get that?! I have been reading of so many women being induced at 34, 35, or 36 weeks because they aren't "comfy" any more. Honestly, I got news for you: YOU ARE GROWING A HUMAN BEING INSIDE YOU! It aint gonna be comfy, and nor is learning how to breastfeed/mother. Deal with it, and ENJOY the miracle of being pregnant and feeling your child move inside you. Ahem, ok I will step off my soap box now.

4.  If I had to describe myself in 3 words: loving, loved, and love filled

5.  Something I'm really cheap about is: jewelery and sunglasses. I cant justify spending hundreds of dollars on either when I can find great options at a thrift store or, in the case of jewelry, make my own!    

6.  Something I'm willing to splurge on is: cardigans and purses! I live in cardigans and love me a well constructed purse     

7.  I would trade a night of good sleep for  Ryan coming home early from this business trip in a heartbeat
(and trust me coming from a nearly 32 week prego that means a lot lol!)

1.   My most prized possession is:ooooof this is a toughy! There are a few things that are really important to me! I guess if I had to narrow it down, like my house was on fire or something, I would want to grab all my photo albums and my old journals. Memories are very important to me. But as far as possessions I simply love there are a few: my grandmothers sewing machine, her hairbrush, and her vintage teacups, and also my wedding rings

2.  If I could be one age for the rest of my life, I would want to be: Id say 28 or 29, the last years of my twenties I really came into my own. I wouldn't go younger then that as emotionally I was a wreck and at times quite the binge drinker. Lets say 29! I really had a great time maxin my last year of being twenty-something! (But honestly, 30 is pretty awesome too!)

3.  The best way to spend a weekend is: starting off at the Farmers Market on a sunny saturday morning buying fresh produce and veggie plants. Coming home to plant those veggies and then enjoy a healthy meal we bought from the market in our garden. Followed by a swim in our pool, a nap, and then lots of crafting and creating. Ahhhhhhhh summer! I cant wait!

4.  My outlook on life is: that if something makes us smile it is good for us. Its really that simple I think. Surround yourself with happy/positive things, people, and sounds and you will be a happier and more positive person. Surround yourself with things that cast a negative vibe or people that emotionally drain you....and you will be emotionally drained and miserable. True story

5.  If you want to annoy me, just: be passive aggressive. I really hate passive aggressive people!

6.  I am completely defenseless when it comes to: ice cream. If there is a tub of ice cream in the house el prego here will eat the whole damn thing

7.  When dressing for the day one should: lay out their outfit on the bed, matching socks, underwear, jewelery and shoes to it. I love doing this!! I cant wait to do this for my child, ooooooh I REALLY hope the bug is a GIRL!

 

 

OK and that's it that's all folks! I am off to Seattle for the weekend with Ryan WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! I am super excited, I love road trips almost as much as I love ice cream. OK actually more because I can eat ice cream in the car, while on a road trip. BONUS! But seriously, we are staying in a lovely hotel with an indoor pool, close to Pike Place Market. I cant wait to float weightless, my back will love having this baby weight lifted for a bit! And taking pictures, ohhhhh to wander around a new city and take pictures. LOVE! I am not abondoning you all though my lovelys, I have some posts scheduled for while I am away so check back on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday is the start of a new weekly feature "Sunday Styles"!!

1.   The best deal I've ever gotten is: my super fantastico Coach purse from an outlet mall in the states. It was cheap as it was, but with an extra 30% off it was rindonculous! I lovvvvvve that purse so much and plan on going back to the same outlet on my Seattle trip (next weekend!) to scout out more bargains

2.  If I were hosting a dinner party and could invite people from my fantasy guest list it would include: Oprah, Ani Defranco, Frida Khalo, Joan of Ark and Angelina Jolie

3.  Something that inspires me is: beauty in decay. I love fall and the beauty that is found in the decay all around us. I also love crows and skulls and such things....but not because I am morbid and doom and gloomy. Rather I feel that it is in these reminders of death that we truly see life. It makes me think of the cycles of the seasons and our bodies, of death leading to re-birth and I find it truly inspiring.

4.  If I could only choose to eat one flavor of food for the rest of eternity (sweet, salty, spicy, bitter....) I would have to go with: Salty all the way. I love sweet stuff, but food is just so bland with out salt!

5.  I dream about: having a big house with a wrap around porch, a huge garden full of veggies and fruit trees, some chickens and maybe even a horse or two. I see Ryan and I living there happily, drinking wine on the porch at sunset, watching our kids run around in the garden and play.Country living at its best

6. My weekend will be spent: cuddling and kissing my hubz! He gets home tmrw afternoon from a 10 day business trip and I am SO FREAKING EXCITED! I cant wait to see him, smell him, hold him! I missed him so much!

7. If I could only watch one movie or TV show for the rest of my life it would be: How I Met Your Mother! Hands down! I love that show and have already seen every episode probably 4 or 5 times each, I shit you not

And in other news all my practicing at screen printing is starting to pay off....TA DA! My very first quilted Bam-Bambi bib! What do you think? I am pretty happy with how it turned out!

1.   My biggest accomplishment in life thus far is: it's a tie...being the first woman in my family to ever graduate from University with a degree, and being pregnant. Even though I wasn't sure if I wanted kids, back when I was in my twenties, I always dreamed of being pregnant. Of living the full experience of what a female body can do, can create. It is pretty awesome and pretty damn humbling.

2.  My favorite place to sit in my house is: where I am sitting right now, at my craft desk

3.  My fashion philosophy is: Uhm, fashion philosophy? I don't really feel that I have one. Comfort is really important to me, and I like to look pretty...but a philosophy? There are more important things in life to think philosophically about

4.  Something every girl should have is : a circle of women friends that love and support her, and that she in turn can love and support.

5.  If you looked in my purse right now you'd find: the novel "The Red Tent", a moleskin journal, my wallet, my Ipod, my favorite pair of leopard print winter gloves, and a million and one used bus transfers

6.  My favorite music right now is: Elvis Perkins and also The National

7.  My favorite part of my body is: currently my big round belly, even though there are days I feel like a whale, I still love what pregnancy is doing to my belly, breasts, and thighs. I feel very womanly

I am so happy it is the weekend! I have a million and one crafty projects to catch up on, and a million and one naps to have. I am SO tired these days! But I also get to meet a blogger friend!!!!! Maryam of Pamplemouse is going to be in Vancouver and we get to hang out! I am excited, but also a little nervous...I have never made friends with someone online and then met them in real life! EEEEEEP! She is so awesome though and I cant wait to run around and take photos with her, well run as fast as our bellies will let us, she is prego too and only a week behind me! How cool is that? I promise to take lots of photos and tell you all about our day.

Friday Fun!!!!

1. I am currently obsessed with: all things "woodland" themed, lol, in case you hadn't already noticed. Owls, deer, mushrooms, trees, birds...I guess I am going through outdoor withdrawal. We are in a HUGE cold snap here at the moment. I miss running around in the woods taking photos!

2. Today I am: going to go out and buy the supplies needed for the first Indie Business 3.0 class project, and I am SO EXCITED!

3. The age I am is: 30 and the age I feel is:  pretty much 30. Before I got pregnant I felt way younger then I was, but now reality is catching up to me. Also the aches and pains of being 26 weeks prego can make yah feel old, lol.

4. My favorite place is my craft table. It is my space, 100% me, and full of fun things to look at, play with, make things, and day dream. I spend nearly all my time there when I am home

5. Something I have been procrastinating about is: getting my husband to follow up with me on the lessons my driving instructor has been giving me. Yes folks, I am 30 years old and still learning how to drive...but anyways Ryan is supposed to be doing lessons in addition to my teacher ones. And well, we haven't in a while because I don't want to fight lol!

6. The last thing I purchased was some baby clothes from a consignment store that were 75% off, WOOOOOT!

7. The thing I love most about my home is that it is so us. It has a very distinct style to it, and themes in the rooms. Our living room has an Asian flair to it with lots of red accents. The bedroom is very romantic with a GIANT Gustav Klimt picture hanging above the bed, and the office/craft room/bugs room/Ryan's closest is so full of us! It is about to explode and we will run out of room soon, but it is lived in and full of love.
